Sale of Alcohol
All sales of alcohol shall be dispatched in sealed containers only.
No alcohol will be supplied to the public at or on the premises.
No members of the public will be allowed on the premises.
Staff Training
All staff engaged in the sale or supply of alcohol on the premises shall have received training in relation to the protection of children from harm (including underage sales), how to recognise drunkenness and the duty not to sell or deliver to drunk persons.
Refresher training commensurate to the staff member's role and responsibilities in relation to the sale of alcohol will be carried out at least every twelve months.
Training records shall be kept on the premises (or otherwise be accessible on the premises) for a minimum of 12 months and made immediately available to police, trading standards or licensing authority staff upon reasonable request.
Refusal Record
A refusals record shall be maintained at the premises, which details all refusals to supply alcohol. Each entry shall, as a minimum, record the date and time of the refusal and the name of the staff member refusing the supply.
The refusal log may be written or electronic.
Delivery of alcohol will be refused if the delivery person considers the customer receiving the delivery to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs or, in accordance with Challenge 25, the person appears to be under 25 years of age and is unable to prove they are over 18 years of age by providing approved ID.
All requirements and responsibilities pertaining to the lawful and responsible operation of the premises covered by primary legislation, will be complied with – e.g building regs, health and safety, and fire prevention.
The premises licence holder will operate the business with general consideration in respect of the surrounding areas, neighbours and businesses.
When a delivery is undertaken by an employed driver a Challenge 25 scheme shall be operated, whereby if the supply of alcohol is to any person who appears to be under the age of 25 years of age, they will be required to produce ID to prove they are over 18 and able to lawfully receive the delivery.
Acceptable ID for the purpose of age verification are:
i. Proof of age card bearing the PASS
Hologram,
ii. Photo card driving licence, or
iii. Passport.
Where a person is challenged and fails to provide an acceptable approved ID, the delivery will be refused and a record of the refusal will be made in the refusal log.
Online Age Verification
For all online purchases of alcohol or alcoholic products, the company website will require the customer placing the online booking to confirm that they are over 18 years of age, and that the recipient of the order is over 18 years of age.
