Licensing Objectives
Below are the additional steps that you have agreed to undertake to promote the four Licensing Objectives and which form a part of the operating schedule for these premises: -
The prevention of crime and disorder -
All staff are trained and educated about the law and legal aspects on selling age restricted goods including alcohol. We will continue to enforce a NO ID NO SALE policy on top of which if a person looks under 21 years of age they will also be asked for identification. Staff are also aware of adults passing age restricted goods to minors and will refuse to sell such items to those known to be doing this. All spirits will be kept behind the till area and will not be accessible to the public. Wines and beers will be located near to the till area. The premises has an advanced digital CCTV monitoring system. All external and internal doors are alarmed which is linked to Redcare. There is also external lighting to help the public CCTV monitor the shop. There will also be a minimum of 5 staff on duty at one time, one of which will be a male.
Public safety -
The Health and Safety at Work Act governs the public safety side of the business. We will not be doing anything extra to satisfy the requirements of the Licensing Act 2003. We will endeavour to ensure that only staff have access to the spirits behind the till area.
The prevention of public nuisance -
The sale of alcoholic drinks for consumption off the premises should not cause any noise problems in itself. The Premises will only be open until 9pm Sunday to Saturday and until 4pm on any Bank Holiday. It will not be open late. The premises is situated in a precinct in Kingsheath, Northampton. It is situated alongside other commercial premises. If serious disorder is or thought to break out outside or inside the premises then we will suspend the sale of alcohol and if necessary close the premises and seek advice from the police.
The protection of children from harm -
We will endeavour to ensure alcoholic drinks are not sold to people under the age of 18 years. Staff will check for proof of age and identification if in doubt. If we become aware of children attempting to buy alcoholic drinks we will bring this to the attention of the police and child protection team if necessary. If staff are aware of adults attempting to pass age restricted goods including alcohol to minors and will refuse to sell such items to those known to be doing this.
