• ANNEX 1 - MANDATORY CONDITIONS

   

  Mandatory conditions where licence authorises supply of alcohol

   

  (1)              No supply of alcohol may be made under the premises licence -

   

  (a)              at a time when there is no designated premises supervisor in                          respect of the premises licence, or 

   

  (b)              at a time when the designated premises supervisor does not hold a personal licence or his personal licence is suspended.

   

  (2)              Every supply of alcohol under the premises licence must be made or authorised by a person who holds a personal licence.

• Licensing Objectives

   

  Below are the additional steps that you have agreed to undertake to promote the four Licensing Objectives and which form a part of the operating schedule for these premises: -

   

  General - The sale of alcohol will form a minor ancillary to the main trading style of the business.  The designated premises supervisor and the proprietor (applicant for a premises licence) will ensure that attainment of the licensing objectives is incorporated into the day to day management of the premises.

   

  Prevention of Crime and Disorder - Two wrought iron security gates are fixed at the top of the exterior stairs leading down from the St Giles Street entrance.  The rear door from the garden patio to the cafe is protected by a steel plate.  All windows at basement level are fitted with substantial bars.  Alcohol will not be displayed for sale other than in a glass fronted chiller unit.  Sales of alcohol (other than those sales for consumption off the premises as detailed in section M) will be by attended service to patrons who are seated at tables.  Food will be available at all times the premises are open.

   

  Public Safety - Adequate risk assessments are maintained to ensure the safety of customers and staff.

   

  Prevention of Public Nuisance - The nature of the trading style of the cafe, the hours of opening and the general location do not suggest the attainment of this licensing objective will be compromised in any form.

   

  Protection of Children from Harm - Children will be admitted.  The trading style of the premises confirms that in all normal circumstances they are accompanied.  If required to check the age of any patron requesting alcohol who does not appear to be 18, management and staff are aware of the challenge 21 proof of age scheme and other forms of acceptable identification.
